Aaron Tracey – Videopro Business Centre: Education

This year, the annual QASSP Darling Downs South West regional conference was held in Roma, and as always, Videopro was there to show our support as Exclusive Gold Business Partners of QASSP.

From the moment, (Product Specialist) Sam Sechi and I arrived in Roma we were made to feel at home by the delegates and conference organisers, and the hospitality didn’t stop there!

We were given every opportunity to ensure our stand displayed all of the new ICT that Videopro had to offer this year but the hospitality continued after our set-up with a ‘welcome barbeque’ for delegates and sponsors. The BBQ gave everybody a chance to meet, catch up, or break the ice before the first day of the conference.

After the opening speeches, Videopro were welcomed to the stage by John Webster to address the delegates and provide some insight into what was on offer in regards to new ICT available for the classroom. However, noticing the delegates were quite enthusiastic about the conference, we chose to take the opportunity to briefly speak about some new interactive whiteboard offerings, wish the delegates a great conference and to encourage them to take the time to visit our stand during the breaks.

It must have been something I said…

At every opportunity the delegates had – we were inundated with queries on our new (and old) offerings at the conference. Proving to be quite popular were the very cost effective IPEVO document cameras and the new Handyscan portable scanners. As usual, the FLIP video cameras proved to be a hit as well as the Sony Bloggie video camera with its 360 degree panoramic lens.

The conference was a great opportunity to show our clients our Hitachi Interactive Whiteboards first hand and to discuss the new pricing structure and warranty period associated with the various options. It was fantastic to be able to show the technology to QASSP members and Principals who may not be able to see regularly due to their regional location. It felt as though we were finally bringing the technology to the people.

Before we knew it, we had attended the conference dinner, conducted a 45 minute workshop on ‘guiding you through the ICT jungle’, set up and packed down 11 different break out areas with Videopro data projection facilities, and it was time to bid our new friends farewell and to begin the journey back home.

When we hit the outskirts of Roma, Sam and I could not help but think, “I wonder what the next QASSP regional conference will bring?” We can’t wait!
