Media Composer

Hi all,

As you may know over the past six years or so I’ve been conducting Avid Certified Training around Australia. It’s certainly very satisfying seeing how students have taken this information, and then applied it to their job. It’s also exciting seeing productions, docos & TVC’s on the small screen and knowing you had a role in teaching the editor.

The teaching of five day certified training has its place, and will continue to develop, however I’ve noticed the need for an introductory course. A course where students, teachers, editors, in fact anyone who wants to know how to use Media Composer can take part and not spend five days away from their job! So, without rabbiting on anymore allow me to introduce you to, Avid Media Composer – Getting Started.

Avid Symphony

In Avid Media Composer – Getting Started, Avid Certified Instructor David Thompson (that’s me!) explores the tools and techniques in Media Composer for producing great looking video, as well as the basics of high definition media formats. This half day course walks through the video production workflow from input to editing to output, covers key information like trim concepts, frame rates, and introduces techniques such as colour correction and real-time audio effects.

If you’re new to Avid Media Composer, then this course is for you! The course is $395 (Inc GST) and we plan to start delivery of these courses within the next few months.
