Later this year, we’ll start seeing some additions to the current Sony E-mount range of full frame lenses. This is really exciting and definitely very welcome for all those A7 owners out there.

First, a 24-240mm F/3.5-6.3 zoom lens: covers a very wide focal length range and therefore very helpful when travelling with as little gear as possible. It weighs in at nearly 800g though, so it’s not feather weight. However, It is dust and moisture resistant, comes with a lens hood, uses 72mm filters plus it’s stabilised.

Second, a VERY fast 35mm F/1.4 Zeiss prime lens. This is what I’m most excited for. I can’t even begin to imagine the results of this on an A7s. Needless to say, if you shoot in low light this is what you need.

Next is a 90mm F/2.8 macro Sony G lens. It has a minimum focusing distance of 28cm so is undoubtedly a macro lens, however this would easily double as a nice portrait lens in my book. Somehow, Sony has also managed to include image stabilisation which is impressive.

Last is a 28mm F/2.0 wide angle lens. Astonishingly, it only weighs 200g so if weight is a problem, this lens is your answer. Sony have made two converters specifically for this lens: a 16mm Fisheye converter and a 21mm ultra wide angle converter.

New Sony E-Mount Lens Line Up
It’s very clear that Sony is heavily invested in the E-mount camera system. If you’re thinking of a switch, it’s a good time to do so.
