Due to recent environmental events in Japan, a great deal of supply pressure is being placed on stock coming from most Japanese manufacturing companies, including Sony and Panasonic.
Both Sony and Panasonic’s main equipment factories were not immediately affected by the earthquake and resulting tsunami, however, independent component suppliers for both companies have been effected and in some cases, production schedule changes are creating delays of equipment supply in excess of eight weeks.
Although there haven’t been any major delays to date, we thought it was wise to share this information as it is something that our suppliers have recently spoken to us about.
If you have a requirement for Japanese manufactured equipment in the near future, please be sure to keep this in mind. We recommend placing your orders as soon as possible to avoid delays.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate in contacting myself, Robert Dew, or your direct Account Manager for further details.
